Mortar Board seeking nominations for annual leadership conference

Mortar Board is asking for help in encouraging active and budding campus leaders to achieve their potential with a nomination to attend this year’s Mortar Board Leadership Conference.

The 2009 conference, to be held Jan. 31 in Stewart Center, will focus on how student leaders can personally develop themselves during their remaining time at Purdue as well as after graduation.

Seven speakers, none of whom have spoken at previous conferences, will cover topics such as energy leadership, the leader's body, and motivation.

The conference will include two key-note addresses and two 50-minute breakout sessions that will provide attendees the chance for small group interaction with one of the distinguished speakers.

Nominations should include current leaders and especially emerging leaders.  Please nominate as many students as you like by going to the Mortar Board Web site.  Each nominee will receive a personal invitation letter from Mortar Board requesting his/her attendance at the conference.

Nominations are due Friday, Nov. 14, by 5 p.m.

Please feel free to contact co-chairs Laura Kightlinger at lkightli@purdue.edu or John Nemz at jnemz@purdue.edu if you have any questions or concerns.
