Registration now available for flu shot appointments
Free flu shots will be offered on the West Lafayette campus starting Oct. 23, and appointments will be required.
Human Resource Services WorkLife Programs is pairing up with Maxim Health Systems to provide the flu shots, which are available to benefit-eligible faculty and staff, graduate staff, retirees, and their spouses/same-sex domestic partners.
To register for an appointment, go to www.purdue.edu/worklife. Registration must be completed 48 hours in advance for an appointment. Call 49-45461 or e-mail worklife@purdue.edu with questions.
Appointments will be available on West Lafayette campus on the following days:
-- Oct. 23.10 a.m.-6 p.m. Room 214A-D, Stewart Center.
-- Oct. 24. 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Intercollegiate Athletic Facility.
-- Nov. 4. 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Room 218A-D, Stewart Center.
-- Nov. 10. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Room 2-1, Freehafer Hall.
-- Nov. 15. 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. WorkLife Programs, Purdue West.
-- Dec. 3: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Room 218A-D, Stewart Center.
A PUID is required for check-in.
People who can't attend one of the sessions have other options for getting a flu shot:
-- Coupon: A flu shot coupon is available for other local events sponsored by Maxim Health Systems. The coupon is at www.purdue.edu/worklife.
-- PUSH: As in years past, walk-in flu shots will be given (based on vaccine availability) at Purdue University Student Health Center. This will begin Dec. 4.
-- Health care provider: Every medical plan for Purdue covers the flu shot. Those interested in visiting their health care provider for a flu shot should check with their campus's benefits information for details on their medical plan's coverage. Medicare also covers the flu shot for those receiving Medicare benefits.
-- Local flu shot clinics: Many community agencies offer flu shots. Participants are responsible for any fees incurred. Local news outlets often provide times and locations.
