Colts chaplain to speak at Hadley lecture

The 2008 Richard A. Hadley Lecture will feature Indianapolis Colts Chaplain Ken Johnson on Oct. 14.

Johnson’s presentation is titled “Be Your Own Best Champion.” Johnson has served as the Colts’ chaplain for the past 12 seasons and is founding director of the Helping Hands Group Inc., an Indianapolis ministry formed to assist inner-city youth.

The lecture is 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Loeb Playhouse, and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

The event is being presented by APSAC and Human Resource Services. Additional funding was provided by the Office of the Vice President for Business Services and Assistant Treasurer.

Johnson’s talk is part of APSAC’s 20th anniversary celebration, which also includes an Employee Self-Improvement Fair on Oct. 21. The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Purdue Memorial Union Ballrooms.

President France A. Córdova has asked deans, department heads and supervisors to permit their employees to attend in paid status or allow a flexing of work schedules around these two events, particularly the Employee Self-Improvement Fair.
