Dedication scheduled for
Dolores McCall Pet Tribute Garden

A formal public dedication of the Dolores McCall Pet Tribute Garden will be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 23 outside the entrance to the School of Veterinary Medicine's Small Animal Hospital.

The Dolores McCall Pet Tribute Garden provides an opportunity for people to honor the human-animal bond and pay tribute to animal companions with a permanent legacy.

The School of Veterinary Medicine Class of 1972 inspired the creation of the garden, located near the entrance of the Small Animal Hospital. Dolores McCall, a longtime supporter of the School and Veterinary Teaching Hospital, named the garden.

People may commemorate a beloved pet by purchasing a plaque that will be displayed on a monument within the garden. Each plaque will feature personal words of tribute honoring the special relationship shared with the pet(s).

Bronze plaques are available in three different sizes – large (8 by 10), medium (4 by 6) and small (3.5 by 2).  Life-size bronze statues of pets may also be created as a tribute, but the supply is limited.

To purchase a plaque or for more information, call (765) 494-5032 or visit www.vet.purdue.edu/giving/pettributegarden.html.

Brochures about the Dolores McCall Pet Tribute Garden brochures are available upon request.
