IT Networks and Security to present 'Configuring your VLAN'
IT Networks and Security will host the presentation "Configuring your VLAN" from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 17) in Room 214D, Stewart Center.
Greg Laffoon, ITaP Networks and Security network engineer, will lead the presentation. The presentation will focus on:
-- Configuring VLAN.
-- Review of different types of networking devices, including hubs, bridges, switches and routers.
-- What a VLAN is and why it is used.
-- How VLANs work across multiple switches.
-- Benefits of VLANs.
-- Drawbacks or pitfalls of VLANs.
