Update: Traffic, parking disruptions

Here are notes on some current and upcoming disruptions on campus.

-- On Tuesday,  the Armory parking lot will be closed for Boiler Gold Rush activities.

-- On Thursday, a ramp is to be placed across University Street just north of Stadium Avenue, between Cary Quadrangle and Lambert Fieldhouse. Crews will work on a sewer lining project. A number of vehicles related to the project will occupy the area also.

-- The sidewalk and possibly part of University Street west of Matthews Hall, immediately north of State Street, remains closed, and no completion date has been set.

-- Second Street between University Street and Waldron Street will continue to have lane restrictions this week, and they may occur on either side of the south entrance to the University Street Garage. This is for positioning of a lift for work on the garage's exterior. The garage is open, but dust from the exterior project may enter the garage. Scheduled completion date is Friday.

-- The bottom five floors of the Wood Street Garage are to open Wednesday. Some closures will continue until mid-October. Odor from the construction work is expected.  In addition, one of the three stair towers may be closed at times.

-- First Street between Martin Jischke Drive and Russell Drive has closed until August 2009 for the Duhme Hall Remodel Project. The Windsor Woods parking loop will not be available for thru traffic.

-- Between Wetherill Laboratory and the North Power Plant, and extending beyond that area, vault expansion and equipment upgrades for Wetherill continue as part of the High Voltage Project. Work is expected to last through Aug. 29. Pedestrians will be able to pass between the buildings, but there will be fenced spaces for the contractor lay-down area and temporary substations. Central Drive will remain closed.

-- Stadium Mall Drive near Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering will remained closed until Aug. 29 as work continues on the Gateway project.

-- Work is beginning on sidewalks along Horticulture Drive and is expected to continue in phases until late November. The initial phase will start from Harrison Street going north.
