August 11, 2008 International Friendship Progam inviting participantsA Purdue program can provide the pleasure of meeting people from other countries and learning about their customs and culture. The International Friendship Program is an opportunity for community residents to share meals, holidays, local outings, or other events with a friend from abroad. IFP, organized by Purdue's Office of International Students and Scholars, matches these residents in a friendship relationship with Purdue international students. There are no legal, financial or housing obligations. The only requirement is a one-time orientation and the willingness to befriend a student interested in better understanding of people and life here. For the orientation, a participant chooses one of three sessions. Each is 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the West Lafayette Public Library (www.wlaf.lib.in.us/), 208 W. Columbia St.: For more information, contact Marcus Hammack or Karin Crum at 49-67528 or friendship@purdue.edu, or go to www.iss.purdue.edu/Programs/IFP/.
