Update: Traffic, parking disruptions

Here are notes on some current and upcoming disruptions on campus, plus expected completion dates on ongoing projects.

-- University Street just north of Stadium Avenue, between Cary Quadrangle and Lambert Fieldhouse, will have a ramp across it on Thursday and Friday as crews work on a sewer lining project. A number of vehicles related to the project will occupy the area also.

-- The west side of South University Street, from State Street to the Agricultural and Biological Engineering Building, will not have available sidewalk use or parking spaces through Wednesday.

-- Repair continues on islands in the middle of State Street between Marsteller and Waldron streets. Traffic restrictions will vary depending on exactly where crews are working, and signs are posted. Scheduled completion date is Aug. 18.

-- The sidewalk and part of University Street west of Matthews Hall, immediately north of State Street, remains closed, and no completion date has been set.

-- Second Street west of University Street is now open, but lane restrictions remain west of the south entrance to the University Street Garage to the corner at Waldron Street. This is for positioning of a lift for work on the garage's exterior. Dust from that work may enter the garage. Scheduled completion date is Aug. 22.

-- The Wood Street Garage will continue to undergo maintenance and repair. It is expected that most will be open before classes begin Aug. 25. Some closures will continue until Sept. 24. Odor from the construction work is expected.  In addition, one of the three stair towers may be closed at times.

-- Stadium Mall Drive near Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering will remained closed until Aug. 29 as work continues on the Gateway project.

-- Boiler Gold Rush, Purdue's orientation for new students, will see more than 5,400 arrivals this coming weekend, which means many drivers who are not entirely certain of how to get around. Patience and helpfulness are in order.
