Update: Traffic, parking disruptions

Here are notes on some recent and upcoming disruptions on campus.

-- One major vehicle disruption has ended. South Russell Drive south of Harrison Street has reopened, providing through-campus access to the south service area including Printing Services.

-- Harrison Street at the Transportation Maintenance Building, just east of Martin Jischke Drive, will not have through traffic this week due to a duct bank project.

-- Construction traffic is to increase as of today on Third Street west of the fire station (DMNT) and across from Shreve Hall for construction of a new band practice field where tennis courts 1-8 have closed. Project access will use the driveway at the old wellhouse.

-- Work on the exterior of the Marsteller Street Garage will continue to involve placement of a lift at times in the alleys north and south of the garage. The south placement should not block the alley behind Pao Hall, but the north placement will block the alley next to St. Thomas Aquinas Center at times. The project is now expected to continue until Aug. 8.

-- University Street from First to Third streets, and Second Street in the block west of University Street, will continue to have restrictions this week due to the sewer lining project. The south entrance (from Second Street) to the University Street Garage is open, but a lift outside the garage will restrict traffic between that entrance and Waldron Street, and some dust from the work there may enter the garage; the project is to last until Aug. 22.

-- Through at least Thursday, Second Street west of Russell Street (in the Windsor Halls area) will be closed. Vehicle access to the apartments will be available. Also, the east side of Duhme Drive will be closed to vehicle traffic and parking.

-- The Crossing of Tracks historical 52-foot length on Centennial Mall (between Wetherill Laboratory and Stanley Coulter Hall) is fenced off for a drainage project until Aug. 8.
