New student system now live at West Lafayette campus

Forums set for advisors, schedule deputies

Today (July 21), the OnePurdue team released the new student system to the West Lafayette campus.

The student system now can be accessed via the myPurdue portal  at http://mypurdue.purdue.edu.

The OnePurdue initiative was launched in 2005 to establish an integrated approach for managing Purdue's many stand-alone systems.

"This is an important milestone for Purdue," said Provost William R. "Randy" Woodson.  "Access to online, real-time data will enhance the University's ability to meet the growing needs of the student body."

Robert Kubat, Universtiy Registrar, said, "We are in a new territory and there will be things we will learn about the new systems and processes in the coming months. "

A series of end-user discussion forums are planned for head academic advisors and schedule deputies. The forums are designed to provide an opportunity to meet and talk about the new systems and processes, to identify system gains, and to identify areas where improvements are needed.

"I see these discussions as part of a continuous improvement effort," Kubat said.  "Two-way communications will enhance our collective ability to transition to the new system."

The forums are scheduled as follows:

Schedule deputies

July 30. Noon-1 p.m. Room 1142, Lawson Computer Science Building.
Aug. 13. Noon-1 p.m. Room 1142, Lawson Computer Science Building.

Head advisors

 Aug. 6. Noon-1 p.m. Room 119, Hovde Hall.
 Aug. 20. Noon-1 p.m. Room 119, Hovde Hall.
