IT Networks and Security to host cybersecurity presentation series
Information Technology Networks and Security (ITNS) is hosting a series of presentations about topics relevant to the work that the Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT) conducts.
The United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) is a partnership between the Department of Homeland Security and the public and private sectors.
Established in 2003 to protect the nation's Internet infrastructure, US-CERT coordinates defense against and responses to cyber attacks across the nation. ITNS works to defend the University computer systems and research projects from attacks.
The dates, locations and topics for this series of presentations are:
April 17. 12-1:30 p.m. STEW 320. Basic Cryptography.
May 22. 12-1:30 p.m. STEW 214A. Best Practices for Hardening Host.
June 17. 12-1:30 p.m. STEW 214B. Basics of Router Administration.
July 17. 12-1:30 p.m. STEW 320. Basics of Setting Rules for the Firewall.
Aug. 13. 12-1:30 p.m. STEW 318. Basics of Dynamic Routing.
Sept. 17. 12-1:30 p.m. STEW 214D. Configuring VLAN.
Oct. 29. 12-1:30 p.m. STEW 313. Best Practices for Vulnerability Assessment.
Sessions are open to all. There is no need to register.
