Calumet training program receives 'best practices' award

The Purdue Calumet campus supervisory training program, Supervise for Success, has been selected to receive the 2008 Midwest CUPA-HR (College and University Professional Association for Human Resources) “Successful Best Practices” Award.

PUC Chancellor Howard Cohen and members of Human Resources staff will accept the award today (March 17) at the Midwest CUPA-HR regional conference in Chicago.

The CUPA-HR Award Committee cited Supervise for Success for:

* Being aligned with our University strategic plan goal to "support faculty and staff excellence;"

* Providing supervisors with consistent and systematic training to understand their leadership role and responsibilities, especially relating to University policies and procedures;

* The role of Colleen Robison, associate director of staff training / Supervise for Success facilitator  as "an integral part of this venture."

The Award Committee is submitting the program to the National CUPA-HR Awards Committee for consideration.
