PUPD offering SAFE training

A Self-Defense Awareness and Familiarization Exchange (SAFE) training session is being offering by the Purdue University Police Department from noon to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16. The course is being offered at the Purdue Police Department (TERY) conference room, 205 S. Martin Jischke Drive.

The SAFE training course is a 2 1/2-hour program which is an introduction to self-defense, designed primarily for women. 

The program consists of a one-hour safety talk/awareness session, a video, and a one-hour introduction to basic physical defense tactics. 

The program is free and is available to participants who are 12 years of age or older. Affiliation with the University is not required to register. Participants will be registered in the order in which the requests are received.  Athletic-style clothing is recommended and shorts are not permitted.
