ITaP offers training for Microsoft Office 2007

Connie Bilyeu, director of training for Information Technology at Purdue (ITaP), has announced available training for Microsoft Office 2003 users who will be upgrading to Office 2007.

Training sessions will cover the differences between Microsoft Office 2003 and the new Microsoft Office 2007 in Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, but not Access.

"The training is available to both University faculty and staff. Some (faculty) continue to struggle with this updated software in the ITaP instructional labs, and this training will be able to help them," said Bilyeu.

Upcoming dates and times the training is offered:

* Wednesday, Jan. 16. 8:30-10:30 a.m.
* Tuesday, Jan. 29. 1:30-3:30 p.m.
* Monday, Feb. 11. 8:30-10:30 a.m.
* Wednesday, Feb. 13. 1:30-3:30 p.m.

The training will be held in Lawson Computer Science Building (LWSN) 1142. Individuals can register by visiting http://www.itap.purdue.edu/training and selecting the Microsoft Office 2007 heading.

According to Bilyeu, other Microsoft Office 2007 learning resources are available for self-study on the Internet at http://www.itap.purdue.edu/training. The resources are listed within the "Learning Materials" tab and are Web links that lead to product-specific online and downloadable learning materials. Materials include the ITaP class manuals, accompanying practice files, and printable quick reference cards (job aids).

"Additionally, a directory of links to Microsoft's online learning resources are posted for each product, and their materials are actually very good," Bilyeu said.
