-- Applications are being accepted for the annual Charles O. McGaughey Leadership Awards. Seven awards of at least $2,400 each will be presented in April. Applicants must be full-time students who have completed at least two years of undergraduate study with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Applicants also must be U.S. citizens with demonstrated leadership ability. They must not have a criminal record or have been addicted to alcohol or other drugs. Preference will be given to students enrolled in the Schools of Liberal Arts, Management or Science. Application forms are available in the Office of the Dean of Students, Purdue Student Government office and the Black Cultural Center. The deadline is March 19. Faculty Honors:

-- Wilbur Lewellen, the Herman C. Krannert Distinguished Professor of Management at Purdue, received an honorary doctorate in economics from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences in November. Lewellen is the first nonretired Krannert professor to receive an honorary doctorate.
