Homecoming king, queen candidates announced

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Fourteen students have been selected as members of Purdue University's Homecoming court.

The court members are:

• Ashley Eiler, a junior majoring in political science and public relations from Lawrenceburg, Ind.

• Jillian Hmurovic, a senior majoring in psychology from Munster, Ind.

• Ebony Jones, a senior majoring in movement and sports science from Chicago.

• Tara Padgett, a senior majoring in elementary and secondary special education from Brook, Ind.

• Lindsay Scheessele, a senior majoring in special education and speech from Newburgh, Ind.

• L. Chapin Shearer, a senior majoring in art education from Elizabethtown, Ky.

• Kimbre Vogel, a senior majoring in premedicine from Monticello, Ind.

• J.J. Camp, a senior majoring in social studies education from Grand Rapids, Mich.

• Ryan Gard, a senior majoring in occupational health and premedicine from Huntington, Ind.

• Andy Eisterhold, a senior majoring in agronomic business and marketing from Poseyville, Ind.

• Akshay Kothari, a senior majoring in electrical engineering from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.

• Chris Kutanovski, a senior majoring in predentistry from Crown Point, Ind.

• Brian Petraits, a junior majoring in industrial technology communications from Brownsburg, Ind.

• Joshua Stolarz, a senior majoring in business management and accounting from Zionsville, Ind.

The Homecoming court is selected through an extensive process, with the final step a formal interview by a panel of judges composed of faculty, staff, students, alumni and community leaders. The Homecoming court selection process is coordinated by the Purdue Student Union Board, which also coordinates the pep rally and the Boilermaker Night Train parade.

Student voting for the Homecoming king and queen will take place Sept. 8-15. The winners will be announced and crowned during the pep rally Sept. 21 at Slayter Hill, and they will be introduced during halftime of the Purdue-Minnesota game Sept. 23.
