'Discover Purdue' TV program rounds out 2006 seasonWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Purdue University's weekly television program "Discover Purdue" will wrap up the 2006 season with a series of shows that run until the end of April.Guests on the show that airs the week of April 9 include Lori Corriveau, a pet wellness clinician in Purdue's School of Veterinary Medicine, and Jeffrey Vitter, dean of the College of Science. Morgan Olsen, executive vice president and treasurer, is on beginning April 16 in a program that also features basketball legend John Wooden, a former Purdue player and UCLA coach. The show's 15th season comes to a close with the April 23 program, which includes interviews with Murray Blackwelder, senior vice president for advancement, and Nancy Cross, senior associate director of intercollegiate athletics. The half-hour "Discover Purdue" program is distributed statewide on public television stations and cable systems. Each program includes campus feature segments and usually two studio interviews. It is available for viewing on the World Wide Web. The program is presented jointly by the Division of Information Technology at Purdue (ITaP) and the Office of University Relations. It appears on five TV stations in Indianapolis, Merrillville, Fort Wayne, Evansville and Clarksville, reaching a total audience of nearly 2 million, plus millions more on cable systems throughout Indiana, the Chicago area and one county in Kentucky. In Lafayette-West Lafayette, the program is seen Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and Saturdays at 7 p.m. on Insight Communications Cable (Channel 13). On Purdue's West Lafayette campus, the program airs every Monday through Friday at 6:30 p.m. on the Purdue Channel on Insight Communications (Channel 5) and the University Residences Television Antenna System (Channel 15). Outside the Lafayette-West Lafayette area, the program is seen as follows: Indianapolis area and on many cable systems statewide on WFYI-TV (Channel 20) Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Northwest Indiana and Chicago area on WYIN-TV (Channel 56) Sundays at 8 a.m. (CDT). Evansville area on WNIN-TV (Channel 9) Sundays at 8 a.m. (CDT). Fort Wayne area on WFWA-TV (Channel 39) Sundays at 6:30 a.m. Clarksville and Louisville area on WVHF-TV (Channel 9) Fridays at midnight.
