Purdue engineering, management jump in U.S. News surveyWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Purdue University's engineering and management schools both moved up in the U.S. News & World Report's survey of the nation's top graduate schools released today (Friday, March 31).Purdue's College of Engineering tied for sixth with the University of Michigan. Last year, Purdue's engineering programs ranked No. 10. The Krannert School of Management moved up two spots to No. 21 nationally among MBA programs. Indiana University tied for No. 23 with Michigan State University. The University of Notre Dame tied for No. 31. In engineering specialty rankings, Purdue earned top 10 rankings in: Industrial/manufacturing, tied for No 4. Nuclear, No. 5. Aerospace/aeronautical/astronautical, No. 6. Civil, No. 8. Mechanical, tied for No. 8. Computer, tied for No 10. In business school specialty rankings, Krannert placed No. 2 in production/operations, up one spot from last year, and tied for No. 7 in supply chain/logistics, up two from last year's No. 9 ranking. Several College of Science programs placed well in the rankings. Purdue placed second nationally in analytical chemistry. Computer science tied for No. 18; chemistry tied for No. 22; mathematics tied for No. 26; physics tied for No. 35; and biological sciences tied for No. 40. The magazine does not rank science programs every year. Purdue's College of Education placed No. 46 in the nation, up from No. 49 last year. U.S.News & World Report's complete rankings in "America's Best Graduate Schools" will be available on newsstands Monday (April 3).
