Staged by the Carl Rosa Opera Company, an internationally acclaimed theater organization in Great Britain, "HMS Pinafore" will be presented at 7:30 p.m. March 30 in Stewart Center's Loeb Playhouse. It is sponsored by Purdue Convocations.

The production, originally written in 1878, is coming from a sold-out tour in the United Kingdom and is directed by Timothy West. Suitable for all ages, the show includes many of Gilbert and Sullivan's popular songs.

Aboard the HMS Pinafore, a tale of love, hypocrisy and mistaken identities unravels when the captain's daughter falls secretly in love with a common sailor. A touring group of 65 musicians, singers and technicians bring to life characters, including Sir Joseph Porter, Little Buttercup, Captain Corcoran and Dick Deadeye.

Tickets for "HMS Pinafore" are $24 to $34 and are available at campus box offices or by phone at (765) 494-3933 or (800) 914-SHOW. Tickets also are available at all Ticketmaster outlets.
