WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Representatives from approximately 50 companies will travel to Purdue University Tuesday (Sept. 27) to recruit students at the 21st annual Hospitality and Tourism Management Career Day entitled, "Coming Together to Serve Five Star Success."

The event will take place 12:30-3:30 p.m. in the North and South Ballrooms in the Purdue Memorial Union. Some of the companies that will be represented include:

• Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
• Clipper Cruise Line.
• Fairmont Hotels & Resort.
• Hilton Hotels Corp.
• Horseshoe Casino.
• Hyatt Hotels & Resorts.
• Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
• Lafayette-West Lafayette Visitors Center.
• Marriott International.
• Marshall Fields.
• Six Flags Great America.

Jill Poehlein, HTM Career Center coordinator, said company representatives are eager to meet the Purdue students.

"Purdue's Hospitality and Tourism Management department has been ranked No. 1 in the country by the Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Education," Poehlein said. "So these students often are highly recruited."

The Career Day is planned and managed entirely by HTM students.
