Indiana House speaker to address College Republicans

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Brian Bosma, Indiana House of Representatives speaker, will talk to the Purdue University College Republicans during a call-out meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 23) in Stewart Center, Room 214.

"The College Republicans' call-out meeting is a chance for students to learn more about the organization," said Chairwoman Annie Kmetz, a senior in the College of Science from Chicago. "We're excited about Brian Bosma speaking to the group and hope he brings a lot of excitement back to Purdue that carries on throughout the school year."

The organization currently has around 250 members and hopes to attract more than 300 to the call-out meeting, Kmetz said.

Bosma, R-Indianapolis, is a 1981 graduate of Purdue's College of Engineering and a 1984 graduate of Indiana University's School of Law. Prior to becoming speaker of the House in 2004, Bosma served as Republican leader in the House since 2000 and had served as House Republican floor leader since 1994. He has been a member of the House of Representatives since 1986.
