Black Cultural Center honors student staff
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. –Purdue University's Black Cultural Center recently honored a number of students for their leadership and service on the center's student staff, participation in the center's performing ensembles and outstanding academic achievement at the 32nd annual awards banquet.
Banquet guests were treated to a themed Caribbean meal that brought back memories of the center's fall performing arts research tour to Puerto Rico where students studied the Afro-Latin Diaspora.
Among awards presented are: the Howard G. McCall Award, presented to a BCC student staff member who has demonstrated consistency in leadership, service and dedication to the BCC; the Nettie L. Hubbard Award (a certificate and monetary award); and the Donna Hall Academic Award of Excellence. Students received a certificate and a monetary award. Other awards were Service Awards, Honor Awards, and Leadership Awards.
