February 9, 2005 Larry the Cable Guy to perform April 8 at PurdueWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Comedian Larry the Cable Guy will perform in Purdue University's Elliott Hall of Music at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 8.
Larry the Cable Guy's appearance, presented by the Purdue Student Concert Committee, is part of his "Get-R-Done" tour. Larry began his career in 1986 at comedy clubs in the Tampa, Fla., area. In 1988 he quit his jobs as a bellhop and cable installer to pursue comedy full time. His early appearances included "Evening at The Improv," "Comic Strip Live," Comedy Central, MTV and Showtime. In 1992 Larry moved his comedy routine to a Tampa, Fla., radio station and was then syndicated into Orlando stations. Today Larry is featured daily in 14 markets. He also is a regular on "Jeff Foxworthy's Country Countdown Show," heard on the "John Boy & Billy Show" and makes guest appearances on the nationally syndicated "Bob & Tom Show." He has previously toured with the Blue Collar Comedy Tour and is part of Warner Brothers Television's "Blue Collar TV" with Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall on Fridays. Tickets are $40.75, which includes facilities fees. Campus ticket sales begin Feb. 17 at campus box offices. General public ticket sales begin Feb. 18 at campus box offices and at all Ticketmaster outlets.
