Cantilever Technologies names Ellen Carnahan to board of directorsWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Cantilever Technologies, a pioneer and industry leader in real-time decision management solutions, today (Friday, 8/13) announced the election of Ellen Carnahan to its board of directors."Ellen brings a wealth of experience in the technology and software markets to Cantilever," said Julie Goonewardene, Cantilever's President & CEO. "Ellen will be an excellent Director, and we're excited and honored that she has chosen Cantilever as an organization with which she would like to work and be affiliated." Ms. Carnahan, recognized as "one of the 100 most influential people in technology" by Crain's Chicago Business, has led technology investments at William Blair Capital Partners LLC since 1988. William Blair Capital Partners LLC (WBCP) has raised seven private equity funds totaling more than $1 billion since its founding in 1982. She joined WBCP in 1988 after ten years of management experience in the software and financial services industries. Prior to entering the venture capital industry, she was Vice President of Marketing & Planning at SPSS Inc., which is now a public applications software company (NASDAQ: SPSS). Before joining SPSS, Ms. Carnahan was Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis at Trailer Train Company, the largest independent operator of railroad flatcars. Ms. Carnahan also has served on the Board of more than twenty technology companies. Selected current and past portfolio directorships include: Clear, Customer Insight, Wisconsin Public Resources (NYSE: WPSR), MatrixOne Inc., NewsEdge, Pavilion Technologies, Flexi International Software, and Vericept Corporation, as well as the Chicago Software Association. Ms. Carnahan is a certified public accountant and holds a BBA from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
