April 28, 2004 Jennie DeVoe to open for Ben Folds at PurdueWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Indianapolis-based singer/songwriter Jennie DeVoe will open for Ben Folds at his 8 p.m. concert on Saturday (5/1) in Purdue University's Elliott Hall of Music. An independent artist, DeVoe records on her own label, Rubin the Cat Music. She has released three albums since 1998, including her most recent live album "Thank You, Goodnight." Indianapolis publication NUVO wrote, "No gathering of local musicians is complete without Ms. DeVoe, who's already considered one of the finest vocalists in the state. On the heels of a new live album of her best material, DeVoe can win over any crowd with her passion, energy and hurricane of a voice." Indianapolis Woman magazine wrote, "Jennie DeVoe is one of Indianapolis' fastest rising stars. Her folk/rock musings come from deep within her soul and leave audiences in awe."
