March 10, 2004 Windsor Hall renovation project to close Third StreetWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Third Street between Intramural Drive and Russell Street will be closed for about two weeks beginning Saturday (3/13). The closure is part of a renovation project in Purdue University's Windsor Halls that requires workers to replace a storm sewer pipe 11 feet under the street, said Purdue civil engineer Daniel Pusey. "While Third Street is closed, drivers should use either State Street or Stadium Avenue to travel east and west through campus," Pusey said. "Pedestrians will still be able to use the sidewalk on the north side of the street while the work is being done." The new storm sewer pipe is part of a series of utilities upgrades that will serve a new dining court in Windsor Halls that is scheduled to open next year.
