December 14, 2001 EDITORS: This calendar lists selected Purdue events during the next four weeks. Events are free and open to the public, except where noted, and all are open to news media coverage. New or updated listings have two asterisks (**). All events in this calendar, plus many others, are listed in Purdue's online calendar. Updated travel directions around road construction zones near campus are available on the Web. EVENTS Sunday, Jan. 6, 1-6:30 p.m., Winter welcome. Stewart Center. A free orientation program for transfer and first-year students who will begin classes in the spring 2002 semester. New students will hear a presentation about Purdue by a student panel. They also will have the opportunity to tour campus, attend a university resource fair, get ID cards, set up computer accounts and access class schedules. Dinner in the Purdue Memorial Union will be provided. Winter Welcome is sponsored by the Office of Admissions and funded from the Purdue University Lilly Endowment Retention Initiatives. Purdue Galleries exhibit: "Sixty Square Inches 13th Biennial National Small Print Exhibition." Robert L. Ringel Gallery, Purdue Memorial Union. The Galleries' biennial competition of small-scale, contemporary American printmaking. WORKSHOPS CANCELED: Tuesday, Dec. 18. Diversity Resource Conversations. Potter Engineering Building, Room 118. A panel was to discuss seasonal observances in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. OTHER Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 24 and 25. Christmas holiday.
