November 2, 2001 MTV's 'Real World' comes to PurdueWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Two stars from the hit MTV show "The Real World" will address a Purdue audience Friday, Nov. 9, and join students for an evening of dancing. Lars Schlichting from "The Real World London" and Rachel "Rachel B." Braband from "The Real World New York II" will speak at 7 p.m. in Fowler Hall. They will talk about their experiences on the show and answer audience questions. Following their talk, a club night at LaPosada on the ground floor of the Purdue Memorial Union will begin at 11 p.m. Lars, a professional DJ, will play electronica and house music. "The Real World," one of the more popular reality-based shows on MTV, features a group of seven people who live in an MTV-provided house for five months. During that time, their daily exploits are recorded and later broadcast. Sarah Lowrey, director of special events for the Purdue Student Union Board, says students should enjoy meeting and interacting with the MTV stars. "This event provides something fun and different to do on a Friday night," Lowrey says. "For those who like to dance, it is a chance to get all that pent-up energy from the school week out." Lecture tickets are $3 for students and $5 for the public. Club tickets are $2 for students and $3 for the public. Lecture ticket purchasers can receive a dollar off a club ticket.
