PMU Summer concert series features local talent

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Good music combines with good food this summer in a series of free Wednesday night concerts sponsored by the Purdue Memorial Union.

Acappella song stylists The Sisters of Thunder will open PMU's annual Summer Concert Music Series on June 27. A soul food dinner also will be available in conjunction with the concert.

The four shows in the music series begin at 6 p.m. on the Purdue Memorial Union front lawn. A dinner buffet, with menu items reflecting the musical genre, will be offered at each show. Dinners cost $8.50 per person.

Other artists and their performance dates include:

• July 11 Clayton Miller Blues Band (Cajun dinner)

• July 18 Bent Nickel Dance Band (Down home favorites dinner)

• July 25 Lafayette Area String Quartet (French dinner)

In the event of rain, concerts will be in the union's La Posada Room on the ground floor.
