Updated travel directions around road construction zones near campus are available on the Web. EVENTS ** Sunday, Feb. 18. 3-5 p.m. Westside Boiler Invasion FIRST Robotics' Team open house. West Lafayette High School Gymnasium, 1105 N. Grant St., West Lafayette. Purdue University student advisors and 22 high school students from three schools preview their robot prior to regional and national team competition. Sponsored by the Purdue Student Engineering Foundation. FIRST is an acronym meaning For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, which sponsors the robotics building contest. ** Sunday, Feb. 25. 7 p.m. Academic Super Bowl. Room 1136, Lynn Hall. Phi Eta Sigma is sponsoring this trivia game. Proceeds go to the United Way/Lafayette Adult Reading Academy. ** Wednesday, March 7. 2 p.m. Interview with the President. Purdue President Martin C. Jischke will have an interview with Dan Skinner on WBAA-AM 920. ENTERTAINMENT Friday and Saturday, Feb. 16, 17, 23 and 24. 8 p.m. "How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying." Loeb Playhouse, Stewart Center. Part of Purdue Theatre Mainstage Season. Tickets are $14 for the public, $12 for students and are available at the Loeb Playhouse box office. Wednesday, Feb. 21. 7:30 p.m. Jewish Studies Film Series. Room 2290, Liberal Arts and Education Building. "Jakob the Liar" will be shown. Thursday through Saturday. Feb. 22-24. 8 p.m. "Slow Dance on the Killing Ground." Black Box Theatre, Creative Arts Building 3. Part of Purdue Theatre Studio Season. Tickets are $5 and are available at the Loeb Playhouse box office. Friday, Feb. 23. 8 p.m. "New York: The City in Song." Long Center for the Performing Arts, 111 N. Sixth St., Lafayette. American Music Review salutes the Big Apple with songs that define the city like "Stompin' at the Savoy" and "Take the A Train." Boiler Brass and Purdue's Auxiliary groups also will be featured. Sunday, Feb. 25. 3 p.m. Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra. Elliott Hall of Music. A program of Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, and Russian opera arias played by the oldest orchestra in Russia. Under the direction of Pavel Klinichev. A part of the Lively Arts Package presented by Purdue Convocations. Tickets are $33, $28, $21 for the public; $17, $14, $12 for Purdue students. Thursday, March 1. 7:30 p.m. Jose Greco II Flamenco Dance Company. Loeb Playhouse, Stewart Center. A part of the Patron's Choice Series presented by Purdue Convocations. Tickets $24 for the public; $18 for Purdue students. ** Saturday, March 3. 8 p.m. Aeros, a gymnastic dance event. Elliott Hall of Music. Fifteen Olympic medal-winning Romanian gymnasts cut loose under the direction of three of today's most influential choreographers in an evening of dance. A part of the Patron's Choice Series presented by Purdue Convocations. Tickets are $32, $27 or $22 for the public; $22, $17 or $12 for Purdue students. ** Sunday, March 4. 2:30 p.m. Purdue Symphonic Band "Partners" concert. North Ballroom, Purdue Memorial Union. Purdue's "Partners in Music Education" program brings together Symphonic Bands from Purdue University and North Central High School in one concert offering. ** Sunday, March 4. 3 p.m. The Clerks' Group Loeb Playhouse, Stewart Center. Cutting-edge scholastic research paired with these incomparable voices have unlocked the expressive power of Renaissance music. A part of the Loeb Music Collection presented by Purdue Convocations. Tickets are $22 for the public, $15 for Purdue students. ** Sunday, March 4. 7 p.m. Purdue Symphony Orchestra "Partners" concert. North Ballroom, Purdue Memorial Union. Purdue's "Partners in Music Education" program brings together Symphony Orchestras from Purdue University and North Central High School in one concert offering. "Carnival of the Animals," inspired by the poetry of Ogden Nash, highlights the Purdue Orchestra's program. ** Wednesday, March 7. 7:30 p.m. Jewish Studies Film Series. Room 2290, Liberal Arts and Education Building. "Train of Life" will be shown. ** Thursday, March 8. 7:30 p.m. Guitarist Leo Kottke. Loeb Playhouse, Stewart Center. This guitarist continues to explore virtually every musical style folk, rock, blues, jazz and more. A special presentation of Purdue Convocations. Tickets are $20 for the public, $15 for Purdue students. Lectures ** Wednesday, Feb. 21. 7:30 p.m. The Legacy of Matthew Shepard. Purdue Memorial Union front lawn and St. Thomas Aquinas Center, 535 W. State St., West Lafayette. Judy Shepard, mother of Matthew, who was murdered in 1998 because of his homosexuality, will discuss the prevention of hate crimes. A candlelight vigil begins at 7:30 p.m. on the Union's front lawn followed by an 8 p.m. lecture at the Aquinas Center. Friday, Feb. 23. 11:30 a.m. Krannert Executive Forum. Krannert Auditorium, Krannert Building. James Lewis, Walt Disney World vice president of multimarketing business development, will speak on "Diversity and Leadership." Tuesday, Feb. 27. 4:30 p.m. Jewish Studies Occasional Lecture Series. Krannert Auditorium, Krannert Building. Kalman A. Burnim, Fletcher Professor of Drama and Oratory, Tufts University, will speak on "What a Multitude of Jews! The London Stage in the 18th Century."
