Outback Bowl spirit posters available

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A free Purdue football spirit poster was made available today (Tuesday, 12/7) at four campus locations.

The 11-inch by 17-inch black and gold poster reads "Boilermakers Thunder Down Under ‹ Outback Bowl 2000." It commemorates the team's third season under head coach Joe Tiller and supports the Boilermaker football program as it prepares for its first appearance in the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Fla., on New Year's Day.

The posters will be available weekdays at Room 60 of Mackey Arena; the Visitor Information Center, in the Northwestern Avenue Parking Garage; the Office of Publications, South Campus Courts-D; and the Purdue Alumni Association office, Room 160, Purdue Memorial Union.

"It's exciting for us to be doing these football pride posters," said David Brannan, director of Purdue's Office of Publications. "We want students and fans primed to take the Tampa Bay area by storm in support of the Boilermakers."

Brannan's office designed the poster, which is sponsored by the Office of University Relations and the Athletic Public Relations Office. The Boilers will play Georgia in the Outback Bowl at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1. The game will be televised on ESPN.

Travel packages for this year's game, including tickets, are available from the Purdue Alumni Association, and game tickets are available at the Purdue Athletic Ticket Office. Tours and tickets may be ordered via the Boilermaker Football Bowl Hotline, (800) 927-4177; in Greater Lafayette, call (765) 496-6300.
