Faculty and staff honors-- Joyce Hall, director of the Division of Financial Aid, has been elected president of the Midwest Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators for 1999-2000. The association represents 1,600 financial aid professionals from a nine-state Midwest region. As president, Hall will chair the executive council and represent the regional association on the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators board of directors.
Campus activities-- A teleconference about how to reach your financial goals will be rebroadcast from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, in Greater Lafayette and on the West Lafayette campus on The Purdue Channel (Insight Communications Channel 5; University Residences Television Antenna System Channel 15; and Purdue Cable Network Channel 4). The panel discussion is sponsored by TIAA-CREFF and features Jane Bryant Quinn, syndicated columnist; Martin Leibowitz, chief investment officer for TIAA-CREFF; Elissa Buie, president-elect of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners; and economist Peter L. Bernstein. They will outline basic principles that can help anyone decide how to balance multiple financial challenges such as saving for retirement, home, college and other personal goals.-- Selected homecoming events on Saturday (10/24) when the Boilermakers play the Fighting Illini at 1 p.m.:
