April 23, 1998 Why Store to headline free weekend concert WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Why Store will be the featured band at a free concert at 3 p.m. Sunday (4/26) at Slayter Center of the Performing Arts at Purdue University. The group consisting of Chris Shaffer, Greg Gardner, Michael David Smith, Jeff Pedersen and Charlie Bushor has been performing throughout the Midwest since the early 1990s. They released two independent albums before signing with Way Cool Music/MCA Records and recording their self-titled album. The Uninvited will be the opening act. The concert is sponsored by Purdue Student Government, Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Association, Motorola, PEFCU, Office Depot and Doc Martin.
