Counting Crows to perform Homecoming weekend

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The band Counting Crows will bring its folk-influenced style of rock music to Purdue University at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, in the Elliott Hall of Music. Counting Crows -- Adam Duritz, lead vocals and piano; David Bryson, guitar and vocals; Dan Vickrey, guitar and vocals; Charles Grilling, keyboards and vocals; Matt Malley, bass and vocals; and Ben Mize, drums and vocals -- gained notoriety with its multi-platinum debut album, "August and Everything After," which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 album chart in April 1994. The band's second album, "Recovering the Satellites," was released in October 1996.

Concert-ticket buying times will be assigned to Purdue students over the Student Services Information On-line service (SSINFO) beginning Monday, Sept. 22. Also on that date, concert-ticket buying times will be assigned to faculty and staff at the Elliott Hall of Music lobby from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tickets go on sale to students, faculty and staff with assigned ticket-buying times beginning at 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Elliott Hall of Music box offices.
