Faculty Honors:

-- Robert G. Showalter, professor emeritus in audiology and speech sciences, was named Sagamore of the Wabash by Indiana Gov. Frank O'Bannon. The award, the highest honor bestowed by the governor, was given to Showalter for developing innovative statewide distance learning programs for practicing speech-language pathologists.

-- Four distinguished alumni of the School of Materials Engineering have received the school's Outstanding Materials Engineer Award. The award recognizes the accomplishments of young alumni who have demonstrated excellence in the field of materials engineering and who have provided significant service to the school.
