Ceremonies are scheduled at the West Lafayette campus May 17 and 18. Approximately 4,900 students will earn degrees during four ceremonies.
Purdue President Steven C. Beering and a representative of the Purdue Alumni Association will address graduates at each ceremony in Edward C. Elliott Hall of Music.
The commencement ceremonies will feature two large video screens above the Hall of Music stage. The screens will display a close-up photo of each graduate as he or she is congratulated by the dean, just after receiving the diploma.
Tickets are required for admission to the hall; participants are issued tickets for family and friends.
Each ceremony will be for specific schools. The schedule is:
Of the approximately 4,900 degree candidates on the West Lafayette campus, about 3,750 are undergraduates. Undergraduate totals, by schools, are:
The other candidates on the West Lafayette campus include approximately 1,100 students from the Graduate School and 83 professional-degree candidates -- 60 from the School of Veterinary Medicine and 23 from the School of Pharmacy and Pharmacal Sciences.
Commencement videos for each school will be available to new graduates, their families and friends, said Steve Hall, director of the Hall of Music. The video costs $22 plus $5 postage and handling. Order forms are available at Purdue box offices and will be available from hall ushers and with programs during the commencement exercises. The Hall of Music box office will be open just before and after each commencement ceremony to accept order forms.

Statewide Technology graduation ceremonies will be: Anderson-Muncie , 4 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at Anderson University; Columbus , 7 p.m. Sunday, May 11, at the Holiday Inn; Kokomo , 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, in Kelley Center; New Albany , 7 p.m. Monday, May 12, at the amphitheater on the Indiana University-Southeast campus; Richmond , 6 p.m. Friday, May 16, at Richmond High School; South Bend-Elkhart , 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, at the Century Center in South Bend; and Versailles , 7 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at South Ripley Elementary School.
