Founded in 1976 by sisters Lisa Mayo, Gloria Miguel and Muriel Miguel, Spiderwoman Theatre is the oldest continually running women's theater company in North America. Inspired by the Hopi deity Spiderwoman -- who taught the people to weave -- the sisters create theatrical weavings of language and movement. Fantasy and reality, humor and seriousness blend together in this technique of "storyweaving."
