The performance, part of the BCC Cultural Arts Series, will be in the Purdue Memorial Union Bean Cellar. Purdue Student Union Board is a co-sponsor of the free show.
A former student of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Abdur-Razzaq has performed, composed and arranged music for the last 25 years. He has played and recorded not only with his own group, but has performed with other jazz musicians including Melba Moore, John Amos and Billy Taylor.
The Haraka Writers, a creative writing and poetry ensemble, is one of the four performing arts groups of the Black Cultural Center. Group members will recite their original writings while Abdur-Razzaq accompanies them on flute.
