** Saturday, Aug. 17. Welcoming parade for new Purdue students. They will join Purdue's "All-American" Marching Band, its auxiliary units and Purdue President Steven C. Beering in the 6:15 p.m. parade from the Windsor Residence Halls to Elliott Hall of Music. After the parade, students and their parents will attend the President's Gala to Welcome New Students at 7 p.m. in Elliott Hall. Beering will address the new students, as will Chris Scott, Purdue Student Government president.
** Sunday, Aug. 18. Undergraduate schools conduct orientation programs at 1:30 p.m. in preparation for the start of classes Monday, Aug. 19.
