December 31, 2003 Police seek suspect in two voyeurism casesWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Purdue police are looking for a man suspected of spying on women in two campus restrooms Tuesday (12/30). John Cox, Purdue University Police Department captain of special services, said a female university employee was using the women's restroom on the second floor of Hovde Hall at noon. She saw a man leaning over the stall wall looking down at her. The victim screamed and ran from the restroom. At 12:30 p.m., a second female employee was using the women's restroom on the main floor of the Purdue Memorial Union, when she noticed someone wearing a pair of men's shoes standing next to the stall she was in. The victim left the restroom stall and saw a man standing in the adjacent stall. The man attempted to speak to her as she left the room, The man is described as an olive-skinned male with short, dark hair and an accent. He is approximately six feet tall and weighs between 160 and 175 pounds. He has a thin face and a long narrow nose. He was last seen wearing a tan coat, khaki pants, brown shoes and carrying a soft black briefcase. Anyone with any information should contact the Purdue Police Department at (765) 494-8221. Voyeurism is a Class B misdemeanor punishable by up to 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
