Police arrest 3, eject 3 at Northwestern football game

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – During Purdue's football game against Penn State on Saturday (11/1), police arrested three people and ejected three others from Ross-Ade Stadium.

Michael S. Shelton, 28, of Springfield, Ill.; Jose D. Perez, 28, of Chicago; and Stephen L. Zgrabik, 21, of Roswell, Ga., were all arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. None of the three are Purdue students.

The three people police removed from the stadium were ejected throwing objects in the stands, said Steven R. Dietrich, interim chief of the Purdue University Police Department. One of the three removed was a Purdue student.

In addition to patrolling the stadium, officers are stationed in the pavilion where they can observe problems and monitor fan behavior, Dietrich said.

Law enforcement agencies involved in providing game-day security include the Purdue Police Department, Lafayette and West Lafayette police departments, Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department and Indiana State Police.
