Appointments and promotions; faculty and staff honors

Appointments and promotions

- Tom Capozzoli, a professor of organizational leadership and supervision, has been named director of the School of Technology's Kokomo/Lafayette location. Previously the interim director, Capozzoli replaces Michael O'Hair, who now serves as associate dean for statewide technology and engagement.

- Jerry. L. Alberts has been named director of corporate relations for the School of Technology. Alberts was previously director of corporate/foundation relations at Wheeling Jesuit University where he earned the WJU Glorium Award for Academic Excellence and Leadership and created the Guerrilla Grant Writing workshop.

 

Faculty and staff honors

- Robert Melson, professor of political science, was elected president of the International Association of Genocide Scholars at its biennial meeting in Galway, Ireland. The association has more than 250 international scholars whose research and writing is devoted to the understanding and prevention of genocide.

- Tim Gibb, Al Fournier and Fred Whitford were selected as outstanding contributors to Integrated Pest Management implementation within Indiana. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 Pesticides Program Section and the pesticides program manager of the Office of the Indiana State Chemist presented the award. Gibb, a diagnostician, Fournier, a graduate research assistant, and Whitford, director of Purdue Pesticide Programs, are from the Department of Entomology.
