Marching band, floats and Homecoming court to process in parade

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue "All-American" Marching Band and the Boilermaker Special will lead Purdue University’s Boilermaker Night Train parade at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3.

The parade, sponsored by the Purdue Student Union Board, also will feature the Homecoming King and Queen, their court and floats designed by student organizations. It will begin at the intersection of Steven C. Beering and Tower drives, proceed up Beering Drive, turn right at First Street, turn right at MacArthur Drive, take another right onto Third Street, turn left at North Intramural Drive and conclude at Stadium Avenue. A pep rally on Slayter Hill will follow at approximately 8 p.m.

Other student Homecoming festivities prior to the parade include tug of war and sand volleyball competitions, which will take place simultaneously at 5 p.m. Wednesday (10/1) at Vawter Field. Students also can vote for the Homecoming King and Queen through Wednesday (10/1). For information on the candidates, visit the Purdue Student Union Board Web site. The competitions, parade and pep rally are free and open to the public. Float announcements and parade judging will take place at the Recreational Sports Center on North Intramural Drive in West Lafayette.
