Construction work causes telephone outage

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Telephone service was disrupted to several Purdue University buildings after a line was cut at about 10 a.m. today (Thursday, 9/18).

Mary Moyars-Johnson, associate vice president for communications for Information Technology at Purdue, said a construction crew working at Discovery Park cut a telephone cable, disabling service to part of the far west side of campus. Buildings affected included the Purdue Airport terminal, Maurice J. Zucrow Laboratories, Chaffe Hall and the Aviation Technology Building.

Moyars-Johnson said phone service was restored by 4 p.m. Anyone affected by the earlier outage who is still experiencing phone problems should call Purdue's Telephone Services Office at (765) 496-8100.
