Putting the pieces together with Purdue Conferences

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – This year's annual How to Conduct a Successful Conference at Purdue University workshop is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Oct. 29 in Stewart Center.

"This year's theme is Putting the Pieces Together with Purdue Conferences," said Chris Sharp, sales and marketing coordinator for Purdue's Conference Division. "This workshop is an opportunity to showcase how Purdue can offer key pieces of the conference puzzle that fit together to create a successful educational conference."

This free workshop for those interested in having a conference or meeting at Purdue, sponsored by Conference Division and Housing and Food Services, will offer four information sessions and an exhibition. To register or receive a brochure, contact Sharp at (800) 955-6385 or ctsharp@purdue.edu. Registrations will be accepted until Oct. 22. On-site registration is available as space allows.

The information sessions' highlights include conference planning and budgeting, the amenities of the Lafayette-West Lafayette community and an interactive panel discussion with current clients and Purdue's own conference planning professionals. One session also will provide 30 ideas in 30 minutes on how to use Purdue's facilities and services to enhance a conference.

Campus partners involved in making conferences and meetings a success will display their products and be present in the exhibit room to explain their services.

"The exhibits suggest ideas on how to incorporate Purdue amenities, such as brochure development, recreational activities, lodging, food and beverage, transportation and much more, into conferences and meetings hosted on campus," Sharp said.

Purdue's Conference Division assists in the coordination and execution of conferences and meetings both on and off the West Lafayette campus. Annually, Purdue administers more than 600 conferences and meetings with more than 70,000 people in attendance. For more information about conferences or meetings on the Purdue campus, visit the web or call (800) 955-6385.
