September 15, 2003 Police seek suspect for taking photographs in restroomWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue University Police Department is looking for a man who allegedly took photographs of a woman inside a public restroom on Sunday (9/14). John Cox, captain of special services, said a female Purdue student entered the women's restroom in the basement of the Agricultural Administration Building at about 2:45 p.m. She told police that there was a handwritten note on one of the restroom stalls indicating that it was out of order. The woman said that while she was using the stall next to the one labeled out of order, she saw a man pointing a camera at her over the top of the stall. The woman yelled, and the man ran out of the restroom. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Cox said there have been no reports of similar incidents on campus. The woman described the suspect as a college-aged, Asian man with short, black "spiked" hair. He was wearing a sweatshirt with black and gray stripes. The man could face charges of voyeurism, a Class D felony punishable by up to three years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
