Dave Chappelle coming to Elliott Hall on Oct. 18

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Comedian and actor Dave Chappelle will perform at Elliott Hall of Music at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18.

The show is sponsored by the Purdue Student Concert Committee, Purdue Student Government, Purdue Interfraternity Council, Phi Beta Sigma and the Purdue Panhellenic Association.

Chappelle began stand-up comedy at age 14, and since that time he has developed a career in comedy and made a mark in the film industry. His acting debut was in Mel Brooks' "Robin Hood: Men in Tights," and his first starring role was in "Half Baked," which he also co-wrote. Chappelle also has had roles in "The Nutty Professor," "Con Air," "You’ve Got Mail" and "Blue Streak." Not abandoning his love for stand-up work, Chappelle created "Chappelle's Show," which premiered on Comedy Central in January.

Tickets for Chappelle's Purdue show are $25 for students and $31 for general public, which includes a $1 facilities fee. The maximum number of tickets any single purchaser may buy is six.

Purdue students, faculty and staff may participate in a lottery to be assigned a ticket purchase time slot. Students may sign up on SSINFO and staff and faculty can register at https://www.convocations.org from 12:01 a.m. Tuesday (9/9) until 5 p.m. Wednesday (9/10). Sales to lottery time slot holders are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 17. Tickets sales to the general public begin at 10 a.m. Sept. 18.
