July 17, 2003 African-American students recognized at award ceremonyWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue University Black Caucus of Faculty and Staff recently honored more than 100 students for their achievements at its 27th annual academic and service awards program. Johnny Brown, event organizer, said every minority student deserves recognition. "To express our appreciation for their hard work and success, we present certificates and gifts to all students," Brown said. "Small monetary awards also are given to students with the highest overall grade point average in each classification."
