Photos of state fair 4-H winners to be on Web site

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – With all of the activities available at the state fair, it's hard to see everything. Get caught up by checking out the pictures of all the Indiana State Fair 4-H winners on the Internet.

Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service and the Department of Youth Development and Agricultural Education will post pictures of the winning 4-Hers on a special Web site.

"On the spot" pictures will be taken of the champions at all 4-H animal judging events, which begin July 31. Photographers also will be capturing shots during the fair at the Indiana State Fair Youth Leadership Conference, demonstration contests, the public speaking competition, the Crop Report press conference, fashion revue, 4-H leaders awards, livestock showmanship contests, sale of champions, Farmer's Day Parade, tractor and bicycle safety competitions, Our Land Pavilion, as well as shooting other photos of interest.

"If a parent is unable to be at the fair, they can virtually go see their child receive the award," said Steve Cain, Purdue Extension communication specialist.

The fair officially starts Aug. 6, but Cain said photos of pre-fair activities will be posted beginning Aug. 1. After this date, photos will be on the Web site the same day as the event.
