Applications for C garage parking permits begin at end of April

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University's parking facilities will accept applications for C garage parking permits on April 29 through May 1.

Students may apply for the permits on a seniority basis according to the following schedule using their current semester classification: Graduate students may apply Tuesday, April 29, seniors and juniors on Wednesday, April 30, and sophomores and freshmen on Thursday, May 1.

There are a limited number of permits available. Once the approximately 2,100 limit has been reached, no more applications will be accepted.

Students will receive a carbon copy receipt when they apply that must be presented between Aug. 1- 29 in order to claim the permit. Unclaimed permits will be offered for sale on a first-come basis beginning Sept. 2.

For students to be eligible to receive a C garage permit, they must live outside a mile and a half boundary as defined in the university's parking and traffic regulations. Students must provide a valid driver's license and proof of address to purchase the permit. Additionally, all outstanding fines must be paid in order to receive a permit.

The C permit cost is $96 and is only valid in the garage selected at time of application. While C garage permit holders may not park in other parking garages, they may park in any C surface lot space. Students who are unable to secure a C garage permit can purchase a C surface lot permit. The surface lot permits for the 2003-04 school year will be available for sale beginning Aug. 1.

Additional information about the C garage permit and university parking and traffic regulations can be found on the Web.

C garage permits represent the majority of proximity parking spaces on campus available to students. The high demand for the permits is the reason a pre-enrollment application process is used.
